Calvi hero Martijn swims to fight cancer!

27 July 2018 | Jana van Dam

On Augustus 26, one of our very own Calvi heroes, Martijn van Eerd, will take part in the Swim to Fight Cancer initiative in Tilburg (NED). During this event, participants will swim 2 kilometers in the open waters in and around Tilburg. His goal is to raise awareness for this horrible disease that leaves an unprecedented number of victims in its wake. Additionally, he will raise money for further research into cancer, which will hopefully ensure that cancer will no longer be one of the deadliest diseases known to man.

The motto of the event is ‘Love Life. Fight Cancer’ and is organized by the Swim Foundation. This event is not only aimed at raising money and awareness, it is meant to be a festive spectacle for all who will be there, audience and champions alike. Martijn is a sportsman at heart, and even though he isn’t much of a swimmer (red. he never swims), we will be right there with him to cheer him on. Calvi is proud that our people contribute in the fight against cancer, and we wish Martijn the best of luck!
