About Henk
“My name is Henk and I’m one of the more recent additions to Calvi. I’m married, and we have a little boy together, Siem. I love doing things with my family on the weekend, such as going to amusement parks, the zoo or the woods. On weekdays I like spending time with my friends in the evening, as well as going to the gym on a regular basis. I originally studied to become a fitness instructor but joined the army shortly after, where I was responsible for the radio systems. I joined Calvi because an ex-colleague of mine, Jeffrey, started working here a few years ago. He has always been very positive, and this encouraged me to apply for a position within Calvi as well.”
What is it you do at Calvi?
“I’m a Support Engineer. All customers that run into problems or have questions come to Support. We are the first line of communication with our customers, be it for relatively small or astoundingly large inquiries. There are a lot of things that the Support team handles independently from the rest of the organization, but it also happens that we have to ask help from other departments within Calvi.”
What was your first impression of Calvi and your colleagues?
“Everyone was very welcoming and friendly, and the fact that their office is a 13th-century castle was mindblowing at first. If you come from where I came from, everything at Calvi is very comfortable and well-thought-through, and the ambition simply resonates throughout the castle. It’s a fairly young organization that impresses you at first sight.”
“Every time I show people where I work, they are just as impressed as I was when I first drove through the gates.”
What do you like most about your job?
“I like being in touch with so many different departments within Calvi. You meet all kinds of really nice people and they always welcome you with open arms. It’s great that I’m able to walk to other departments and just ask any questions I may have. You also hear a lot about what’s going on in the organization, because everyone is so open.”
Why is your team essential for Calvi's success?
“My team is essential for Calvi's success because we are the team people turn to when they have questions they cannot answer themselves. We are also the first people to analyze the problem, and we are the go-to team in case an incident occurs.”
How would you like our customers to describe their collaboration with your team?
“I hope our customers experience our collaboration as one that is honest and transparent. We always try to assist them to the best of our abilities, and we do not stop until we have found a solution to their problem. We value mutual trust and we are always available when people need us.”
How would you describe Calvi in 3 words?
"Innovative, ambitious and pioneers!"
Where will Calvi be in 5 years?
“I believe Calvi will be twice as large, with twice as many employees. We will become the world’s largest and most innovative player in the field of Bill Communication and we will be active on most continents. If you look at our current situation and the market situation in the Netherlands, we are capable of staying ahead of our competitors, which is why I know we are on the right track.”
