We are excited and proud to announce that the EURINV project has been concluded! Throughout this project, we developed the support mechanism that allows us to send and receive cross-border electronic invoices in accordance with the European Norm, with a special focus on being able to support the PEPPOL BIS3 Invoice and NLCIUS CIUSes.
We successfully completed the Implementation tests, in which we validated the format of our electronic invoice. After this, we moved on to the CEF Conformance testing phase, in which we checked the compliance of Calvi against the syntaxes used by the European Norm (UBL2.1 or UN/CEFACT CII). Finally, we were able to move on to the Interoperability tests, which consisted of us proving that our electronic invoicing solution is fully operational and capable of sending and receiving cross-border electronic invoices to and from other participants. These tests have since been completed, and we are now fully operational and ready to start sending and receiving electronic invoices from other EU Member States.
Project importance and next steps
At Calvi, we believe in the importance of supporting both European and global standards. Only through standardization can we realize a situation where an accessible common market allows for a sustainable exchange of documents. Our participation in the EURINV project has allowed us to transform our electronic invoicing solution, and the next step for us will be that we’ll develop a solution that allows for ‘status back’ messages. This is very important for the international community, especially for cross-industry eInvoicing.
On behalf of all Calvi participants, we would like to thank LMT Group for their assistance provided during this project. In addition to this, we would like to thank all other participants for their hard work and dedication. It has really been a team effort.
What the EURINV project was about
The EURINV project is co-financed by the European Commission within the CEF Telecom Program. The project was initiated as a result of EU Directive 2014/55/EU on electronic invoicing in public procurement. The Directive seeks to develop a European system ensuring interoperability among Member States of the European Union in order to facilitate public procurement and cross-border e-commerce. It aims to support the European EDI Providers in becoming fully compliant with the European Standard (EN) by upgrading their eInvoicing solutions. You can read all information regarding this collaboration initiative on the official website.
